# Terms of Use for RemindMew

## 1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the RemindMew mobile application (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

## 2. The App and Services
RemindMew is a self-improvement application designed to help users create reminders, journal, and optionally receive AI-generated content (collectively, the “Services”).

The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use unless we explicitly agree otherwise in writing.

## 3. Medical and Mental Health Disclaimer
**The App is not a medical device and does not provide medical, mental health, or professional advice.**

- AI-generated content and app content are for informational, educational, and/or entertainment purposes only.
- Do not rely on the App for diagnosis, treatment, or crisis support.
- If you believe you may be experiencing an emergency, contact local emergency services immediately.

## 4. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
The App may use AI services provided by third parties (including OpenAI) to generate text and/or voice content.
**No guarantee:** AI outputs may be incorrect, incomplete, misleading, or inappropriate.
**User responsibility:** You are responsible for reviewing and deciding how (or whether) to use AI-generated content.
**No liability:** We are not responsible for actions you take based on AI-generated content.

## 5. Your Content
You retain ownership of the content you enter into the App (e.g., reminder notes and journal entries) (“User Content”).

**Local storage:** The App is designed so that your reminders and journal entries are stored locally on your device. We do not provide user accounts and we do not store your content on our own servers as part of normal operation.

**AI processing:** If you request AI features, you authorize the App to send relevant text you provide for processing by third-party AI providers, routed through our secure proxy infrastructure used to protect API credentials.

**User responsibility for User Content:** You are solely responsible for all content you enter into the App, including goals, reminders, notes, and journal entries (“User Content”). We do not review, monitor, or control User Content, and we are not responsible for its accuracy, legality, or appropriateness.

**Rights and compliance:** You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to enter your User Content into the App and that it does not violate any law or infringe any third-party rights (including intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights).

## 6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for unlawful purposes.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or bypass security features of the App or its proxy services.
- Use the App to generate or promote hateful, violent, harassing, or illegal content.

## 7. Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services, which may have their own terms and policies, including:
**OpenAI** for AI content generation
**Google Firebase Analytics** for app usage analytics
**Formspree** if you submit feedback through the App
**Revenuecat** to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions 

Your use of those services may be subject to their terms and privacy policies.

## 8. Intellectual Property
The App, including its code, design, logos, and graphics (excluding User Content and third-party AI outputs), is owned by the developer and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

## 9. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE APP AND SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

## 10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, INCLUDING AI-GENERATED CONTENT OR NOTIFICATION DELIVERY.

## 11. Changes to the App and Terms
We may update the App and these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
